As we are performing, we have asked the students to wear a white top and dark bottoms. Feel free to join us for this assembly on Thursday.
- Students will be given a poppy on Thursday. Our class is taking donations for the Legion.
- Book Orders went home last week. If you are putting in an order this month, please have it in by Thursday.
- No school on Friday, November 11th for Remembrance Day and Monday, November 14th. Teachers only in session on this day.
Spelling
- Lesson 9 focuses on the letters 'sc' which can make the /s/ sound as in scenery, /sk/ sound as in scalding, or the /sh/ sound as in luscious.
Reading Studio
- This week we will be having a scavenger hunt looking for non-fiction features and talking about how they are useful. We will work in groups and create a video using Adobe Voice to share our learning.
- We are finishing up publishing our stories and will also be publishing a poem we wrote today for Remembrance Day. Today we learned that writing can take many forms: story, letter, and summaries are ones we've tried so far. Today we tried out poetry and throughout the year we will add biography, research report, comic strip, and review.
Gym
- We will finally start our soccer tournament this week. We will be in groups, come up with a team name, and play the other teams in this tournament.
Numeracy
- We have been working with 3 and 4-digit numbers and trying out different mental math strategies to add 3 and 4-digit numbers. We have been looking for 10s, using a number line, using a hundreds chart, and adding by place value to help us. Later in the week we will move on to adding larger numbers.
Social Studies/Science
- We will be starting our research on a human body system this week. Each student has chosen a system and will be becoming an expert on that system to share with others.
