Upcoming Dates / Reminders:
- Next field trip we will be needing parent drivers (Nov.27th) If you haven't already, pick up the forms from the office to register as a driver and the form to take to get your criminal records check and fee waived. Field trip forms will be going home in the next week.
- This week, November 3, 4, and 5, Lochside will be dismissing early at 1:48pm so parents and teachers can conference. Students need to be picked up at 1:48pm on these days. If you haven't yet signed up for a conference, it's not too late. Simply follow the link, find an empty box next to the time and preferred day and fill in your child's first name only. No need to save, it automatically does it. Close the window and you are done! If you need to change, you can delete your name and fill in a different empty slot. If you have any troubles, let me know and I'd be happy to help out. Note: If you are trying to access the file via iPad or smart phone, you will need to go through the Google Docs app, otherwise you will not be able to edit. You do not need an account to access this document on a desktop. Here is the link:

Classroom News:
Buddies: Last Friday we finished the week with some time playing on the rocks with our big buddies who showed us the ways of Lochside's Water Works. We had a great time with our big buddies.
Language Arts: This week we will practice retelling the story Pumpkin, Pumpkin.
Math: We will try out the dice this week with a pumpkin-themed math game.
Science: We are finishing up looking closely at pumpkins this week by learning about the pumpkin life cycle and recreating it in an art project.
Gym: We will be working on our tossing and catching skills in the gym this week.
Music: We are having our usual Tuesday practice and will be joining Mrs. Takhar's class for music this week with Mrs. Chater.
Centres: Many of the children have been playing lions, tigers, and cats during their centre time. Today we decided to open up a pet store in the class. We brainstormed what we would need for a pet store and will use found items in our classroom to create the special center.
