Upcoming Reminders and/or Events:
- Grade 5 Camp Thunderbird meeting is tonight for parents, 6:00-6:30pm in the Lochside Learning Commons (LLC).
- Trail Walk is on Wednesday this week from 8:50-9:20am. Families are welcome to join us!
- Skating field trip is this Friday afternoon. We are still waiting for a few permission forms and money for the bus/rentals. On Friday help your child remember appropriate clothing for skating, gloves, their helmet (bike helmets are fine!), and their skates if they own their own pair. Also we are needing some helpers! If you are able to join us on the bus or meet at Panorama to tie skate laces, please send me an email.

What are we working on in class?
- Math: We are learning how to divide and working on different strategies to help us divide with larger numbers. Grade 4s are working on division of 2 and 3 digit numbers with no remainders. Grade 5s are working on division with remainders. In geometry, we are working on our geometrocity designs.
- Reading: We are continuing to look at non-fiction features. This week we are looking at coloured print, the pronunciation guide, and parentheses.
- Social Studies/Writing: We have finished building our background knowledge for our Two Worlds Meet project. Today we launched the inquiry part of the project and visited 5 stations to fill up our tool kit in order to be successful inquirers. We will be choosing a topic to dive in deep, learn more about the topic through research, and then will choose a way to share our learning. We will be developing our inquiry question this week on our chosen topic. Ask your child which topic they chose!
