Upcoming Reminders and/or Events:
- Trail Walk is on Wednesday this week from 8:50-9:20am. Families are welcome to join us!
- Field trip to Legacy Art Gallery is this Thursday. We will be indoors but students should have a raincoat in case we have to walk a bit from where the bus drops us off.
- Fun Lunch is on Friday
- New early dismissal day is set for Thursday, December 12th - students will be dismissed at 1:48pm on this date so I can meet with parents/guardians. I will also be available to meet the day before and after the early dismissal day. Please follow this link to sign up for a conference.
What are we working on in class?
- Math: We are will be looking at addition and subtraction of larger numbers. This week we will be focusing on mental math strategies.
- Writing: We have finished our planning for our second story and will be starting our rough draft this week. We also wrote a poem to go with our pine cone art. As we finish you'll see these on our bulletin board in the hall.
- Gym: We are finishing our soccer tournament this week - ask your child which team they are on and their team name!
- Reading: With Ms. Ammaturo we will be learning about the different types of conflicts in stories. We also used an app called EPIC to learn about the moon cycles.
- Science: Ms. Ammaturo continues to teach us about matter - solids, liquids, and gas. With Ms. Norris we are learning about the movements of the sun, earth, and moon. This week we are focusing on the phases of the moon and will be creating a stop motion video to share our learning.
