What are we working on in class?
- Spelling: This week we are focusing on words with the sound EL and L.It can be spelled LE, EL, and AL as in pickle, towels, and final.
- Math: We will be working on building larger numbers in many different ways - place value, word form, standard form, base ten model, and expanded form.
- Writing: We learned that authors always have a plan. For our first writing piece, we have chosen a topic and made a plan following the story mountain. We have a beginning, middle, and end thought out with an idea of the setting, characters, and problem. This week we are working on building our rough draft.
- Gym: For the month of October we'll be working on soccer skills. So far we have worked on dribbling. This week we will work on passing, shooting, and goal tending.
- Social Studies: Lochside intermediate students will be participating in the Student Vote gearing up for the Federal Election. This week we will be reviewing the map of Canada to help us understand the difference in elections. We will also be exploring political parties as we learn all about elections.
