Upcoming Reminders and/or Events:

  • Trail Walk is on Wednesday this week. Families are welcome to join us from 8:50-9:20am.
  • Wednesday, May 8th, we will be hosting a Skip-A-Thon for our students in the gymnasium. Students will be skipping with the goal of raising funds to support research and care services for heart and stroke patients. We ask your support in making a donation to help fight heart disease. We will donate the collected funds to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC. Please consider adding to our loonie/twoonie drive on May 8th. If you would like to donate by cheque, make cheques payable to School District 63 (Saanich). You can donate online as well. It is fast and easy and using this method you will get a tax receipt.
  • No school for students on Friday. Staff only in session as we begin to plan for next year.

Math: We have been learning about decimal place value this week and how to order and compare numbers. Next step is to investigate how to add and subtract decimals.

Tech Tuesday: We are going to be using our new tool cart to put our simple machine learning to work! Our first project will be a surprise for Mother's Day - we can't wait to get started!

Physical Education: We will finish up volleyball this week with some game play. We are beginning to build our confidence to return the ball with a bump or a set.

Science: This week we will continue to learn about simple machines in the class. So far we have explored the inclined plane, wedge, and screw.
