Upcoming Reminders and/or Events:
- Trail Walk is CANCELLED this week. We have a special drama group performance on Wednesday morning.
- Our second session with Kenzen Sports Karate is on Wednesday afternoon.
- Cross Country runners - your second race is this Wednesday after school at Centennial Park. Have a great race!
- Fun Lunch is on Friday.
Math: We are wrapping up division shortly. Many students have got it and are working on projects to extend their thinking. Many students are working in smaller groups with Ms. Norris and Mrs. Baim in order to continue to deepen their understanding of division.
Social Studies: We have started a mini-unit on First Nations government. Our guiding question is - How have First Nations government changed over time? This week we will explore the concept of a culture. How do you define culture? What aspects make up a culture? When does a culture need to be governed?
Tech Tuesday: We spent some time coding with the Hour of Code site with Mr. Meadows on Tuesday afternoon.
Physical Education: We have started a volleyball unit and have begun to explore how the game of volleyball works.
Drama: This week we decided on different jobs that need to be done for our class play. Ask your child what they signed up for!
Reading Studio: After our literature book study last term, we are getting back into choosing individual books to read during our independent silent reading block. Ask your child about the book they are reading right now.
Science: This week we starting to engage and explore simple machines on Discovery Ed. Mrs. Simpson and I have some exciting projects coming up to explore simple machines with our two classes this term!
