Dear Lochside Community:
Reminder to register for the Lochside Team at the TC 10k School Challenge on April 26th. Please register by March 31st at https://www.raceonline.ca/events/registration/747.
Thursday April 9th is the next Lochside movie night. We will be screening Big Hero 6 in the school gym. Doors open at 5:45, movie begins at 6.
There are a number of volunteer opportunities currently available:
- Movie night April 9th - we need volunteers to help with set-up, popcorn and food sales beginning at 5:45 pm.
- Teacher appreciation week begins May 11 and we need some helpers to organize various activities.
- Food Committee volunteers - this committee will take the lead for some of the events at the school, particularly the Halloween party and the end of year BBQ. Committee members will plan and organize but will have the support and assistance of other volunteers for the events themselves. Many hands make light work, so a few volunteers to join this committee would be ideal.
- Outdoor Learning Centre - volunteers are needed to join upcoming work parties at the school to prepare for the build. This is an opportunity to be truly 'hands on' as you stain the lumber that will be used in the Outdoor Learning Centre.
- Lice check volunteers - A suggestion has been made to establish a lice check team. Approximately 6 parent volunteers would be required and may start by gathering and providing information to the parent community. The lice check team may also do periodic lice checks in each class. Training will be provided.
