Dear Parents & Guardians:

Preparations are going well for the October 23rd Pirate Party.  We are still looking for volunteers to help.  Lots more volunteers needed for the night of our Pirate Pizza Party on Oct. 23rd!!!  If you can spare 30-45 minutes on that night it would make a huge difference.  Please respond to lepacvolunteers@gmail.com.  We can't do this without you.

Smile smile cards are active again for 2014/15.  Anyone who has a card from Lochside can begin using it again immediately.  For new families to the school, we will distribute cards as soon as we receive them from Thrifty foods.  We can raise up to $2500 towards our "Outdoor Playground" with 5% of every dollar added to your smile card going back to LEPAC.

Cobs Bread "Dough Raiser" program.  Purchase bread at the Cobs Royal Oak location and tell the clerk that you are with Lochside Elementary.  A portion of all purchases will go back to LEPAC.

Mark your Calendars: Walk and Wheel to School – Wednesday, October 15th

We would like to invite you to participate in our annual iwalk- Walk and Wheel to School event Wednesday, October 15th.   Lochside School will be one of over 150 schools across the province taking part in this annual event to promote the many benefits of walking and wheeling to school. It’s a great way to take steps towards a more walkable world! On Wednesday, Oct 15th we will have 3 “Park and Walk” locations where a volunteer will be there to meet parents and kids and walk/wheel to school together.  The 3 locations are: the Baptist Church on Royal Oak, McMinn Park in Sunnymead and Emily Carr Park on Emily Carr Drive.  Volunteers will be there at 8:00-8:15am.

The Coupon Book “Save Around” ordering deadline is October 13th!  First orders will be sent home this Wednesday the 8th. We could use a couple helpers to take labels off the books today (Monday) at 9AM in the LEPAC Kitchen.

Thank you for supporting all of the LEPAC Fundraising Initiatives.

Remember to sign up your child and their siblings for the Thrifty Foods Kids Race on October 12th, by this Wednesday.

There will be a couple of practice runs this week on Wednesday and Friday at 11:15 am at the far basketball courts with a parent volunteer, Julia K.  Available parents are welcome to join in and assist at the short practice.

 Have a great week,
