Dear Parents & Guardians,

Now that the wet season is upon us, the school is accepting donations of clothes that can be lent to students who become muddy or wet.  If you have a few items that are too small for your own kids, they could be put to good use at the school.  Items such as tights, sweatpants, long sleeve tops, sweatshirts and socks are all needed. If you have some items to contribute, you can drop them to Kitlin in the office.

Save the Date & Mark your Calendars – October 24th for our school Halloween event – The Haunted Circus! 5:30-8:00pm. We will need lots of volunteers to make this event a success.  Please email lepacvolunteers@gmail.com to sign up; even if you just do a one hour shift that is a big help.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the skip-a-thon last Thursday, it was really appreciated! Thank you: Mary B., Heather C., Wayne H., Cheryl G., Moira F., Mitra H., Judy P., Natalie B., Jill M., Tessa L., and Marlena C.

All Skip-a-thon pledge forms and monies are due in to the school today – Monday the 30th!

There will be a run practice for all students that have signed up for the Thrifty Foods Kids Run this Thursday at 11:15am on the basketball court located at the back of the field close to the Lochside Trail.  Please come for a 15 minute practice with proper running footwear.   Any students are welcome to come to this practice regardless of whether they have signed up to run in the race.   Please encourage your son or daughter to come out.  Any parents that would like to help out are also welcome to attend.  If you have any questions you can contact Heather Caul, Team Captain, hcaul@shaw.ca.

If any parents shop at TrueValue Foods in Cordova Bay, Lochside PAC has a fundraising account there so remember to let them know you are with Lochside at the checkout!

For all parents who volunteer or who expect they may volunteer this year at the school, the process to get a criminal record check (CRC) is: Pick up a letter from the office (the letter states that the parent is volunteering in SD#63 and asks that the $50 fee be waived), take it to your local police department, pick it up once it is ready and bring it to the office for forwarding to the District office.  Your CRC is good for two years.

If you haven’t returned payment or sample Entertainment Books back to the school yet, please do so ASAP. Huge thanks to Cheryl G. for organizing this fundraiser for the school!
