Apologies for a separate mailing.  This content was lost in a previous email chain and we want you to know about this upcoming run so we can have as many children registered as possible!

Lochside Elementary School is now registered for the Thrifty Foods Kids Run & Marathon on Sunday, October 13th, 2013 at 10:15 am
We are encouraging parents to register their 12 and under kids for this fun 1.25 Km run and join our Lochside Team.

A $15 entry fee includes a T-shirt (100% cotton), goody bag, race number and medal. Goody Bag courtesy of THRIFTY FOODS. 



  • Draw Prizes All children participating in the THRIFTY FOODS Kids Run & Marathon will have their name entered in a draw for 4 age grouper bikes donated by Oak Bay Bicycles. Children must be present at the start line to win.
  • School Challenge Schools that have 10 or more children entered in the Kids Run prior to September 27 will have their school name printed on the back of their race shirt. Schools pre-registered by Sept. 27, 2012 will have shirts with school names and packages delivered to the school team captain (Heather Caul)  by Thursday, Oct. 10 for distribution at the school. Kids who registered for the school team after Sept. 27, 2012 will pick up their registration package at the Race Expo on Friday or Saturday with a Kids Run shirt without the school name.
  • School Teams: The school with the most participants registered by October 10th will win $1,000 cash prize for their school.
Online registration forms are available by clicking  .  Register early to avoid disappointment, there is a cap on registration numbers.
We will have a couple practice runs during the first recess over the next few weeks for 10 - 15 minutes.
