LEPAC June General Meeting - June 17 @ 6:30pm
We will be having our general meeting via Zoom this month to wrap up the year. As with everything this year our LEPAC exec has had to run a little differently this year. In June we normally vote in a new executive for the following year and give annual reports. This has been unable to happen as normal this year, so this meeting will be an update on where things stand at this time, and nominations will be happening in September of next school year, with a vote to follow in October.
We would love to invite any parents who would like to attend this meeting to join us on Wednesday June 17 from 6:30-8pm.

School Supplies!
Parents can order school supplies through Monk Office Supply. Monk Office has pre-built kits containing all required items on each grade level supply list. Orders will be accepted online and families will be able to pick up supplies here at Lochside during the week of Sep. 2nd. This is a valuable fundraiser for our school PAC.
To order: Visit https://bts.monk.ca/ and enter our PAC Code: 33770C on the SHOP page. Deadline for ordering is July 19
Add your child’s grade-level kit (and optional items, if desired) to your cart
During checkout, pay with Visa or Mastercard and choose free school delivery
Parents can also choose to shop for the items needed using our school supply lists. Grade-level lists are posted on our website.
For next year, 2021-2022, we plan to lessen costs by: Requesting a basic kit that parents provide (could be ordered through Monk Office) Coordinating a bulk purchase for specific supplies in September, wherein parents could give a cheque for the teacher to buy and manage supplies, such as watercolours etc. This will help us get high quality products, avoid purchasing redundant supplies, and better meet needs.
Parent Education – June 16
A very interesting presentation is being put on by the White Hatter organization about “Sharenting”
Parents love to share and promote, through pictures and posts, how proud they are of their children in their social media. However, could these pictures and postings have unintended consequences to their child later in life? In this webinar, we talk about, and providing examples of, something called “sharenting.”
How parents are unknowingly becoming the genesis of creating a child’s digital dossiers
how these digital dossiers are now becoming very searchable, at times very problematic later in your child’s life
What you as a parent can do to prevent this from happening.
This session has a bonus 30-minute Q&A!
