Thank you so much to the Lochside staff for working so hard to ensure that the school and staff are ready and prepared to receive students tomorrow. Thank you also for ensuring contact is maintained with students who will be continuing their learning from home.
Community
Often when you mention Lochside Elementary to people, one of the first things they comment on is the community of Lochside. Yes, it is an amazing school, and yes we have the most amazing staff, but the community is what brings us all together and makes us great.
It is really important that in the coming weeks we maintain our amazing community. Back to school is optional for the month of June; as families we have discussed this, stressed over it, celebrated it, and worried about it. There are children that are excited tonight, some are nervous and some are sad they will not be seeing their friends. Everyone has made the very best decision for their families and we support you. It doesn’t matter if you are headed to school in the building tomorrow or in your living room, you are all valued members of the Lochside Community and we know both Lochside Staff and your LEPAC will do everything possible to continue supporting families.
Staff Appreciation and Saanich Neighbourhood Place
Normally we would have organized an amazing Staff Appreciation week last month, however with COVID-19 we were unable to celebrate them in our normal fashion. After talking with Admin and staff it was suggested that we take the money we would normally have budgeted for staff appreciation and donate it to a local neighbourhood place. After lots of discussions LEPAC as well as staff decided on the Saanich Neighbourhood Place http://saanichneighbourhoodplace.com/ This amazing organization offers support and programs in our local community. LEPAC Meeting
We will be having a virtual LEPAC meeting, via Zoom on June 17 from 6:30 – 8:00. Please stay tuned for more information on how to participate.
