THANK YOUS!
Thank you to Kirsty, Christy and all the parents who helped out with the Fun Lunch this past week, as always it was a huge success! Thanks as well to the Popcorn hero’s! It is so fun to hear all the kids when they walk into the school on popcorn day!
Thanks so much to Liz and Scarlett who organized and ran the Save-Around coupon packages. Thank you as well to everyone who helped support!
Thanks to everyone who made it out to our monthly LEPAC meeting this past week. It was a great time to connect and to hear from our Principal Mr. Vickers and our Vice Principal Mrs. O’Leary on the exciting things happening at the school.
Thank you to Chelsea and Bob of New Growth Tree Services for donating their time and equipment for the Lochside Elementary Tree Chipping and Bottle drive and to all the parent and grade 5 volunteers and Mr. Vickers for all of their hard work last Sunday. It was a successful event to help raise money toward Grade 5 Camp Thunderbird.
INTERNET SAFETY PARENT EDUCATION
Please join us on Tuesday, January 22nd from 7:00 to 8:00pm as expert volunteers from Telus Wise share information on living and parenting in a digital society and internet, smartphone and social media safety. Bring your questions!
The session is being offered at no charge, but please register at this link so that we have an idea of numbers.
We have also been asked by the facilitators for all parents attending to fill out this survey in advance of the workshop: https://www.research.net/r/wisepre
GRADE 5 FUNDRAISING
Lochside Elementary Used Clothing and Toy Sale
Please consider donating your children's gently used clothing and toys for the upcoming Lochside Elementary Used Clothing and Toy Sale being held Thursday Feb. 7 and Friday February 8th. The sale will be held before school 8:00-8:30am, at lunch recess and after school 2:48-3:30 both days. Donations will be accepted the day before the event Wednesday Feb. 6th after school in the gym.
There will also be a Community Garage and Bake Sale the following day Saturday February 9th which will be open to the public from 9am to 1pm. We will be accepting donations of used furniture, artwork, household goods and all sorts of sundry items.
This is a perfect time to get some spring cleaning done and get rid of those unwanted items. Any questions about these two events can be directed to lynnmhood@hotmail.com
Games in the Gym
The Gym is open every Tuesday and Thursday between now and Spring Break. Just simply have your child get their indoor shoes and meet us in the gym. From 8-8:35am there will be supervised activities in the gym. We will walk kindergarten students directly to class at 8:35. Parents do not need to stay, so take advantage of early access to use the parking lot, a chance to get to work earlier, and many other benefits!
Volunteers spaces still available and needed. To volunteer sign up just follow the link https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0E4EAFAF2AA5FB6-games
