Upcoming Reminders and/or Events:
- Scholastic Book Fair ends tomorrow (Tuesday!)
- Trail Walk is on Wednesday! We will be on the trail from 8:50-9:20am. Parents and grandparents are welcome to join us.
- No School on Friday, November 23rd for students. Teachers in session only. I am excited to attend the Tech for Learning Summit here in Victoria.
Here's what we're up to in class:
- Spelling: We are focusing on the letter combo 'sc' this week. Something 'sc' makes the /s/ sound as in scenic. 'Sc' can also sound like /sk/ as in schedule. 'Sc' can sound like /sh/ as in schedule.
- Gym: We are in our final week of floor hockey. We'll be focusing on goal tending and scoring skills as well as learning how to play the game before our tournament week.
- Math: This week we are moving into a shorter unit on addition of numbers to 10 000 and 1 000 000. We'll be using our learning from number sense to help with strategies such as using place value, drawing pictures, and more to help us solve problems.
- Writing Studio: We are finishing up our final drafts using Google Docs of our first published story.
- Science: Today we experimented with making a solution of dough for our Amusement Park models. The rest of the week we'll be perfecting our dough and using it to create our models. I can't wait to see Division 3s amusement park towards the end of the week!
