Fill the House Food and Gift Drive:

This event was a huge success! The gingerbread house was overflowing with food and brought in an astonishing ~2000 lbs of non-perishable food donations and $280 for the Mustard Seed! Thank you to everyone for your generous donations of food, toys, cash, and gift cards! Your support made it possible to provide 9 large hampers to our own Lochside families, complete with food and all wishlist items! Thank you!

Many thanks to Thrifty Foods for donating 500 paper bags to help with our food donations and to our Lochside community for such great support with this event! Special thanks to all the parent volunteers: Nicole W., Kirsty H., Megan M., Heather G., Jane W., Heather R., Heather C., Jen T., Lynn-Rae M., Nicole P., Lindsay E., Zareen, Shannon A., Courtney P., Jen M., Sarah D., Krista H., Jaime S., Alysha B., Jasmine G., Kelly P., and Tina L.

Gingerbread House Full of Food Donations

Clothing Donations

We are currently seeking donations of children's leggings and pants to add to our supply of “emergency clothing.” While we encourage all children to have a spare set of clothing at school, “extras” come in handy especially during wet days! We welcome your donations at any time throughout the year. If your child has borrowed our extra clothing, we appreciate it being laundered and returned promptly!  Any donations can be dropped off at the office.

Recording of Winter Concert will be available for sale!

Every year, we look forward to watching our children’s winter concert.  Due to our venue, it is difficult for many audience members to view the performance.  As a LEPAC, we have organized a parent volunteer to record both concerts in hopes to resolve this concern.

The recording will be available on USB stick for $10.00.  If you would like a copy of the concerts, please fill out a form, attach $10.00 per USB stick and return it to an envelope outside your child’s classroom by Dec. 22nd.  Forms will be provided before and after the performances as well as an attachment to this email.

Please note that this copy of the concert is for personal use only and should not be posted on the Internet or any social media.

We hope this option will provide a more relaxed and enjoyable experience as an audience member as well as a copy for parents who are unable to attend. The form is attached.

Parenting Without Power Struggles

A 10-week educational support group for parents with pre-teens (ages 9-12) looking to examine their parenting skills and develop better relationship with their children. The group meets in Central Saanich once a week on Tuesday mornings for two hours to discuss things such as adolescent development, communication skills, boundaries, and substance use, among others topics. This helps to create a dialogue and learning opportunity for parents interested in changing the dynamic within the home. The group costs $45/person or $65/couple and parents must pre-register.

Please contact Mike Schmalz or Miriam Miller for further information or to sign up for this group.
