Important Dates and/or Reminders

  • Our bike trip to Michell's and back is ONE WEEK TODAY! If you haven't already handed in the form, please do so this week. Please use the next few days to have a look over your child's bike and make sure it is in good working order. Bikes need to be at school Monday morning with their helmets ready to leave at 10:30am. Students need a backpack with a full water bottle, lunch, sunscreen, and $5 for ice cream on the way back. They will be biking with their backpacks.
  • Trail Walk is CANCELLED this week. We have a Science Ventures program through UVic happening that morning.
  • Lochside is having a Fine Arts assembly this Friday in the gym at 9:00am. It will be a celebration of music and dance. Our class will be performing one ukulele song as well as a marimba song with the Grade 4/5s.
  • MOVING? If you are planning to move to another school for next year, or have a change of address or phone number, please contact the office so we have the most up-to-date info. Call: 250-658-5238
  • Looking for a summer tutor? Chris Chan is an elementary teacher in our district who has availability to tutor this summer. Send me an email if interested and I can pass along his contact information.

Reading Studio

  • Many students have completed their matchbook summaries. There are a few finishing up their reading and summaries. Some are finishing up their folders this week.

Math

  • We are finishing up our measurement unit this week, looking at area and perimeter, and will be looking at 3D shapes this week.

Science

  • We are continuing to build our cardboard arcade games. We are hoping to finish them by Friday.

Gym

  • We continue to play some games together in the gym.

Music

  • Lochside is having a Fine Arts assembly on Friday, June 16th at 9:00am. Our class will be performing one song on our ukuleles for that assembly. Hope you can make it!
