Dear Lochside families,
Thanks to everyone who came to the LEPAC meeting last week. It was great to see so many new faces! Read on for this week’s update:
Thank you to all of our new classroom reps who have offered to take on this important role. We are still looking for reps for some classes. Please go to our on-line sign up form to see if your class needs a rep and to sign up.
The Thrifty Foods Kids Run is coming soon, on October 9th. Follow this link to register and don’t forget to sign up on the Lochside team! The school with the most participants registered by Wed, Oct. 5 at 12:00 noon will win a $1,000 prize for their school.
Attention all grade 5 parents! We need parents to help coordinate fundraising to help with the cost of Camp Thunderbird. Payment for Camp Thunderbird will be in March, so the earlier fundraising begins, the more it can reduce the cost of the trip for the students. We also need a few parents to pitch in for this year’s grade 5 yearbook. The yearbook is an amazing keepsake of memories for our grade 5 students. If these opportunities sound interesting to you, please contact Stephanie.
A reminder to all parents about our ongoing fundraisers. When you shop at Tru Value on Cordova Bay Rd or at Cobs Bread in Royal Oak, make sure to tell them you are a Lochside parent. A percentage of your purchase will be donated back to our school.
BOKS (Build Our Kids Success) will continue on Tuesday and Friday mornings until October 25th. Your child is encouraged to drop in at 8am in the field behind the school for some good, outdoor fun to get the school day started!
Unplug and Play also continues every Sunday from 1-3 at McMinn Park. Come out for some active fun with friends on Sunday afternoons!
Have a great week!
