Dear Lochside community,

Read on for this week's update:

Holiday Book Shop

We are happy to announce that the Holiday Book Shop will take place again this year and it promises to be a fun and affordable way for our students to buy a literacy focused gift for loved ones.  Each item at the Book Shop will be priced at $1.00 each and will be wrapped at our special wrapping station.   But, we need your help to make this event a success!  You are invited to make a donation of gently used books as well as paper, bows & gift tags. Fiction and non-fiction books for all ages are encouraged!

We will collect donations of books, paper, bows and gift tags for the Holiday Book Shop from November 30th to December 10th in wrapped boxes outside the Multi-Purpose Room.  Once we sort and organize the donations, the Holiday Book Shop will then be open to students for shopping on Friday, December 11th and Monday, December 14th.   Net proceeds will be shared between the Mustard Seed Food Bank and LEPAC.

A big thank you to Alysha B. and Jenni E. for organizing!

Scholastic Book Fair

Thank you to our parent community for supporting our Scholastic Book Fair!  A big thank you to Tina L. for helping organize and special thanks to Alex S., Carolyn P., Reet D. and Mami K.

Also, thank you to our parent volunteers!  Our events could not happen without you:

Mr. Grewal, Ms. O’Leary, Ms. Heppell and Ms. Babcock, thank you so much for you continuous support and assistance with all of LEPAC’s events.

The Book Fair was a great success and we exceeded our fundraising goal!   We were also able to provide our Learning Commons with over a thousand dollars in new books and learning materials.

Fill the House Food Drive

Our “Fill the House” Food Drive begins on Monday!  Please watch for details and paper bags from Thrifty’s that were sent home with students on Friday.  We are happy to announce that this year we are not only accepting donations of dry goods, but will also be accepting monetary donations and donations of gift cards to help the Mustard Seed provide complete Christmas hampers (dry goods, toys and certificates to purchase fresh produce/turkey and/or clothing) to families in need. Bags of dry goods can be delivered to our giant house in the school foyer.  There will be a donation bucket under the tree in the foyer for any monetary or gift card donations.  We will also be sponsoring families within our own community this year and their wish list items will be hung on the tree in the foyer.  If you would like to fulfill a wish, please take an ornament off the tree and return the purchased item under the tree, we will then add those wish list items to complete a Christmas hamper for families within our community.  This is such a wonderful cause and we thank you all for your support!

A big thank you to Nicole W. and her amazing group of volunteers for organizing!

Movie Night

Thank you to Mary B. for organizing our Inside Out movie night!  A great time was had by all.

Smile Cards

Please consider using your Thrifty Foods Smile Card this holiday season.  Every time you load your card, LEPAC earns fundraising dollars to be used towards classroom technology.  Thanks for your ongoing support!

COPACS Meeting

We are hosting a COPACS meeting on December 3rd at 7:00 in the library.

Have a great week!
