Monday Update - Jan 26th 2015
by Lochside PAC - Sunday, 25 January 2015, 10:24 PM

Dear Lochside Community:

Royal Oak Middle School is having an open house for grade 5 students on Feb 5th at 6:30pm.

LEPAC needs a couple parents to volunteer to be on the School Planning Council.  Please attend the Feb PAC meeting if you are interested, or let us know by email.  If there are more than three volunteers, there will be a vote by secret ballot.  One participant must also be a PAC Executive.  This committee meets twice a year with school administration to discuss school goals and priorities.

The LEPAC AGM is in May and we will have some executive positions that are expected to be vacant.  If you are interested in fulfilling a role on the LEPAC executive or have any questions about how you might become involved, please contact Stephanie Kalabric at lochsidepac@sd63.bc.ca.

Over the last several years we have had the good fortune of having Terry and Stephanie Wong coordinate all of our food services for school events.  As they are leaving the Lochside community this year, LEPAC is in need of someone or a couple people to volunteer to co-ordinate food services.  For more information or to volunteer, please contact us at lepacvolunteers@gmail.com.

Is there a parent interested in supporting LEPAC communications (including the Monday Update?) Please contact lepacvolunteers@gmail.com.  The parent would need to be willing to attend PAC meetings.

Attached is the School District 63 2015/16 draft calendar and here is the Calendar Options Survey:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/sd63parent

The school district would like to hear from as many parents as possible.  Response deadline is by Monday, February 23rd.

Reminders for the week:

  • Tuesday the 27th – Family Literacy Day, come read with your child from 8:45-9:10am

Have a Great Week,

LEPAC Exec.
