Dear Lochside Community:

Students running the Thrifty Foods Kids Fun Run this weekend: practice run at recess at 11:15 and pick up your race package Friday after school, in front of the librbary.  If you are unable to make this time please email Heather at hcaul@shaw.ca to make alternate arrangements.

Earth Day this week! Practice your Litterless Lunch all this week!

Fun Lunch is this week: remember to check with your class rep to see if your class needs a volunteer on Friday.

Teachers' and Staff Appreciation Week is coming up in May.  Anyone interested in helping organize, please email Stephanie at skalabric@shaw.ca.  She is meeting with interested helpers today at 2pm, meeting by the library and deciding on a meeting location in the school.

The next PAC meeting will be our Annual AGM, on May 21st.  I am please to announce that we have a fill list of nominees for all positions next year.  Please come out to hear about PAC and vote these terrific volunteers in:

Co-Presidents: Mike Brooks and Stephanie Kalabric
Vice President: Judy Payne
Treasurer: Don Mellings
Volunteer Coordinator: Mary Brookes
Secretary: Tiffany Condon
Co-Healthy Schools Rep: Kerry Walsh
COPACS: Kelly Perry & Jodi Holland
Past President: Rachel Calder

And if anyone else is interested in putting their name forward for election, it can be done up to and at the AGM itself.  There are also many other volunteers roles that need people to commit to them for each school year.

Thank you to all the parents who volunteer their time at the school!

Save the Date for Home Alone Training for students in Grade's 4 and 5 - May 15th after school; more information coming soon.  The cost is $12 per student.

Reminders for the week:

  • Wed: Walking Wheeling Wednesday
  • Thurs Apr 24th: Intermediate Choir & Orff Performance, 1:45 in gym, parents welcome
  • Friday April 25th: Fun Lunch

Have a great week,

Rachel
