Every classroom in the school needs at least one class rep.  There are four classes that have no one in this position yet.  They are: Seabrooke, Smith, Niedjalski and Keeb.  If you have a child in one of these classes, PLEASE consider being a class rep.  We need class reps to coordinate helpers for Fun Lunch this Friday to help distribute food.  These special events and activities can only happen if we have enough parents to help facilitate.  Please email lepacvolunteers@gmail.com to sign up for this role.

If you are unsure if your class has helpers signed up for Fun Lunch yet or not, please check with your class rep or just show up and help! Volunteers meet at the LEPAC Kitchen on Friday at 11:20 and it takes about an hour, including clean-up.

The Haunted Circus Event needs more volunteers! This is going to be a spectacular event and we need a lot of people to make it happen.  Older siblings are welcome to help out as well.  Please email lepacvolunteers@gmail.com to volunteer.

There is an Interactive Math Night on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 @ 7pm at ROYAL OAK MIDDLE SCHOOL; Open to all SD63 Parents and Guardians, Please RSVP: copacssd63@gmail.com: “This is an informative, practical, and interactive session for parents. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for parents to gain a better understanding of current math curriculum and teaching. Talented district staff with Math expertise will be volunteering their time to meet with us. All academic levels will be addressed in appropriate grade groupings.

If your child was in Grade Three last year, please return the Alder Tree to the school by Oct 17th.  Students and parents are invited to a planting on Oct 19 230-330 at swan lake Christmas hill nature sanctuary.  Please label your tree if your child will be able to attend and plant it.

Camp Thunderbird Fundraiser: The last couple of years, LEPAC had grade five parents coordinate a fundraiser to help cut costs for the annual grade five trip to Camp Thunderbird.  If any parents are interested in helping coordinate this, please contact Rachel at lochsidepac@sd63.bc.ca.

LEPAC has a fundraising account at TRU VALUE Foods, on Cordova Bay Rd. When shopping there, be sure to let them know you are with Lochside!

LEPAC is looking for 2 or 3 committed parent to help facilitate a weekly LEGO club at the school over the colder months.  This involves getting the lego out and supervising the students as they build over the lunch-recess period and then cleaning it up afterwards.  Please contact lochsidepac@sd63.bc.ca for more information or to help out.

This week is our LEPAC General Meeting from 6:30-8:00PM.  We will be discussing our proposed 2013-2014 budget which will be voted on at the November LEPAC Meeting.  Child-minding is available.  The budget is attached for your review.

On Sunday, over 30 Lochside students (and parents) ran in the Kids Fun Run alongside 1300 other participants. This event was part of the Victoria GoodLife Marathon.   Well done Lochside Lizards!  Thank you to Heather C for organizing!
