As part of budget planning for 2012/13, the Board is considering a two-week spring break for 2012/13 by adding the week of March 11-15, 2013 to the scheduled week of March 18-22, 2013. Instructional minutes from March 11-15 would be added to the remaining days in session (eight minutes per day). This change would provide the district with $150,000 savings to apply to programs and services, bring health benefits to students and staff, bring Saanich into line with the majority of school districts in BC who have adopted two-week spring breaks already, and align our spring break with that of our neighbouring districts.
