5) *Thank You, Lochside Community* Multicultural (ELL) Potluck Recap

In case you missed it, Helena sent out a Thank you email after the ELL Potluck on June 5th... Here are some of the highlights:

"Thank you to all our families for sending in food for our students to share. It was amazing to see, smell and taste food from all over the world - from Indian Butter Chicken, to Indigenous Bannock & Crotian Schnitzels, to American Chocolate Chip Cookies and Scottish Millionaire's Shortbread. The array was vast and bountiful!

A huge thank you to all of our parent volunteers as well. We could not have pulled this "radical dream" multi-cultural potluck event off without your support. Parents were here helping as early as 8:45am with the set up, and then the next shift of volunteers arrived to help to serve the food (which lasted close to two hours), and finally our hard working clean up crew, where two mom's even washed closed to 800 pieces of cutlery!!

Finally, again, our deep gratitude goes out to our ELL Department (Mrs. L-D, Mr. Tribe, Mrs. Dalziel & Ms. Moore and special guest Mr. Garber) for hosting this event for the entire school! Thank you!"

And we raised a total of: $3,163!!!

Well done, Lochside! Thank you for donating a little, or a lot! It all added up to a successful fundraiser, and some happy skippers. smile
