Hi, families! February has flown by, but we still have some things in store... Please check out the updates for this week below:

1) *URGENT* Spring Book Fair (Volunteers Needed!)

LEPAC will be hosting a Spring book fair next week with the following schedule:

February 28   -   8am to 12:15pm and 2:50 to 4pm
February 29   -   8am to 12:15pm and 1:50 to 4:30pm

This is a great opportunity to stock up on books and also help support our school Learning Commons and teachers as a proceed of the sales goes back to Lochside.

Please take a look at our signup sheet and pick up a shift as we'll need parents who can help us setup (February 27) , run and pack up the fair (March 1).

2)  *Deadline TOMORROW* Purdy's Easter Chocolates fundraiser until Feb 26!


Here's the final reminder that the fundraiser will go until, tomorrow, February 26 and will be ready for pickup just before the start of Spring Break around March 11.

3) *Only 6 Spots Remaining* Home Alone Form

The date has been set for the "Home Alone" Program! 

  • It will be on March 6 from 3-5:30 in the Learning Commons for ages 9+.
  • Included is an extra offering of LEPAC supporting any parents who have financial barriers (please contact admin, if so!)

Note: The program cost is $30.00 and payment must be sent by e-transfer to lepacpayments@gmail.com in order to confirm your child's registration. If cost is a barrier, please contact the school administration and LEPAC can help.

5) *LAST CHANCE* Parent Workshop Opportunity

The Ministry of Education and Child Care, in partnership with adolescent Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Hayley Watson, will be hosting free virtual sessions on youth substance use for parents/guardians, caregivers and caring adults. Dr. Watson will provide valuable insights, practical tips, and resources to equip participants with the tools needed to guide their children and youth toward making positive choices when it comes to substance use.

Key Takeaways for Participants:

  • Learn why children/teenagers are drawn to substances.
  • Understand what causes and maintains substance use disorder and needs.
  • Increase your child’s ability to make positive choices about substances.
  • Acquire practical conversation tools for discussing substances in the home.

7)  *REMINDER* Fun Lunch Sunday Program ("This Week's Lunch")


Do you like the idea of having someone else prep lunches for your kiddo(s)? Check out this update from the "This Week's Lunch" folks:

Details: If people sign up for "This Week's Lunch" regular Sunday program and use the promocode lochside30, the PAC receives 5% of total sales in perpetuity as long as the family continues to order.   The families will receive 30% off for the first 2 weeks and then it goes to the regular price.  

More Info for the Sunday Program: 

  • You register for 3 or 5 days a week
  • Each meal comes with snacks, a portion of fruit and a portion of veggies plus their main.
  • You can always request certain customizations to your food such as if you don't want carrots etc.
  • You can pause or cancel any time, but it does renew each Monday.
  • The food is delivered directly to your house and all cooked and ready to go.  
  • Your lunches are now packed for the week.

  • Thursday, Feb. 29 - Early Dismissal @ 1:48pm (Your child(ren)’s teacher will be in contact with you to discuss the details for their classroom’s Open House).
