[Special Thank Yous]
1) Thank you to our teachers who made such beautiful art with our students for the Card Project!
Gentle nudge: Final deadline to order is Sunday, November 19 (only one more week left). Delivery will be Dec 4-8.
More details in the attached PDF to today's newsletter.
2) Thank you to everyone who performed and all the folks who attended to support our Remembrance Day Assembly on Friday, November 10th. Special thank you to the teachers who helped get the students ready and of course, to our special, uniformed guests who were in attendance.
[Safe Arrival]
- Reminder that late students are to sign in at the office if they arrive at school late. If it’s a planned late arrival, you can email the Lochside absences email: lochside_attendance@saanichschools.ca and then sign in to the front desk once back at school;
- Parking lot: Please leave any STAFF identified stalls vacant when visiting the school for any reason;
- Rithetwood Drive and Lochside Drive: A concerned community member wrote to let us know that she has witnessed a lot of cars speeding up and down Rithetwood Drive, as it is a popular shortcut and drop off/pickup location. There are no sidewalks, several blind corners and lots of school-aged kids who walk and play. Please drive slowly on the side streets during pickup/drop off times.

[**This week: CBC MUSIC CHALLENGE**]
Message from Mrs. Lisa Alexander:
CBC Music Class Challenge
Our school is entering three performances in the CBC Music Class Challenge 2023!
All classes have been working hard in their weekly music lessons to prepare their songs. We want our Lochside Lizards looking their best when we record the performances and we are asking families to help dress their children in a coloured theme for each performance.
- Grade 4 & 5 students will perform Máhsi ts'enįwę. We would like Grade 4 & 5 students to wear a white top and black or dark bottoms.
- Grade 2 & 3 students will perform Good Morning. We would like Grade 2 & 3 students to wear a brightly coloured solid top. Or, a Lochside Elementary School shirt is also appropriate. Please avoid large logos, other than the Lochside logo. Where possible, please avoid hooded sweatshirts for the performance. They are not ideal for filming.
- Grade K & 1 students will perform I Am A Pizza. We would like Grade K & 1 students to wear pizza coloured clothing, including yellow, orange, red, green, brown and beige. We can have a scattering of black olives and white feta cheese on this pizza if you do not have the other colours available. : )
We will film the videos during class time on Wednesday November 15. We anticipate the videos will be available for viewing via the CBC Music Class You Tube Channel approximately 10 days later.
