Wishing you all a good week ahead! Thank you to the popcorn and fun lunch volunteers - your time is so appreciated by us all!

Safe Arrival

Reminder that late students are to sign in at the office if they arrive at school late. If it’s a planned late arrival, you can email the Lochside absences email: lochside_attendance@saanichschools.ca and then sign in to the front desk once back at school.

Medication at School

Lochside school's policy is that no prescribed medication or over the counter drugs can be brought into the school with students without a signed Medication Form which does require a prescriber’s signature. Please phone or email Leila if you need to get a Medication Form completed.

Lizards on the Run

The TC10K's Thrifty Foods Family Run 1.5K is on April 30, 2023 and we are excited to announce a Lochside Lizards team!

Here is the link that you can follow to sign up directly for our team. It is $20 and the deadline for early bird is January 31. After the early bird deadline you might not get Lochside Lizard printed on your team shirt. So don’t miss out!

The team organiser Michelle will keep us up-to-date when she finds out more about the race package pickup info.

Criminal Record Check

LEPAC and the Lochside School will need volunteer help and support for many events and activities in our school, such as our fun lunch program, field trips and school events. As Saanich School District is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for our students and therefore ask volunteers to provide the school with a criminal record check. Please apply online to the Ministry of Justice at justice.gov.bc.ca/criminalrecordcheck and use Access Code UV53DWHBYX. This is an easy process and good for 3 years.

Family Literacy Day

A message from our Learning Commons Teacher, Laura Molloy:

To celebrate Family Literacy day on Friday, January 27th, Lochside students are welcome to invite a parent or guardian to come and read with them in their classroom from 8:40-9:10 am. At Lochside, we truly value the important role caregivers play in providing enriching literacy activities at home. Even simple tasks such as reading the instructions to a board game, cozying up to read a bedtime story or creating silly stories together can be impactful. Parents and guardians have an incredible influence on their child's development, and we want to celebrate all you do.

Lochside staff and students are also welcomed to dress up as a literary character of their choice. Please ensure all costumes do not have face masks or weapons. This is an optional activity for those who wish to take part.
