Wishing you all a very happy Family Day tomorrow. Lizards are back to school on Tuesday!

We hope you can get some squares checked off on your Kindness Bingo sheet to draw for a class prize at the end of the month. We’ve attached a copy of the sheet here if you still need one.

If you’re wanting to do something extra kind, please do consider joining LEPAC Exec next year! We keep our meetings short and friendly and we help great things happen at Lochside!

We really need a Co-President and a few other key players! Please email our nomination committee if you are interested or have any questions.

Bottle Drive

Please continue saving all your returnable drink containers to drop off at the front parking lot on Sunday February 27 from 10-2. We are still looking for one or two helpers. Let us know if you can pitch in - it should be pretty easy. Thank you!

Parent Workshop

The Confederation of Parents' Advisory Councils of Saanich (COPACS) and the PACs of School District 63 (SD63) are pleased to offer SD63 parents/guardians a series of workshops hosted by local parenting educator and counselor, Dr. Allison Rees.

Parenting can be a hard job and Dr. Rees has been offering life-changing skills and knowledge to Victoria families since 1991.

Last year's COPACS-sponsored workshop with Dr. Rees was a big success!  54 families from across the district attended and 78% found the session very helpful and 90% said that they would definitely attend a future session. Well here's your chance!

Sessions are free, scheduled throughout the school year over MS Teams and are helpful for parents/guardians of kids of all ages.

Please register for each session individually by emailing keating.pac@gmail.com.

Next Session is this Tuesday: Effective Communication Skills for Everyone - Tues, Feb 22 - 7:00-9:00 pm

Effective communication is a game changer.

In this workshop you will learn about helping children to deal with their feelings and help your child attain a positive self image. You can also gain cooperation in your family without nagging and the knowledge and tools are for communicating with adults too!

Daily Health Check

Please ensure you are doing a daily health check with your student(s) and keeping children home if they are not feeling well and then following guidance of public health or the BCCDC as to when they can return.

Reporting an Absence or Late Arrival

Please email lochside_attendance@saanichschools.ca to report your child’s absence or late arrival. You may copy the email to the classroom teacher as well.

Ongoing Fundraisers

We have a few fundraisers that run year-round and help out LEPAC with things you might ordinarily do anyway

  1. Country Grocer - Save your receipts and bring them back to school with your child

  2. Mabel’s Labels - Try and save your kids’ items from the Lost & Found with cute little labels here. A portion of your purchase will be sent back to LEPAC!
