Happy Halloween Everyone! Hope you all had a fun weekend. The school has requested that if possible, please refrain from sending treats into school this week.
Covid Safety
Plase remember to do your daily health checks, wear masks when coming onto the school property, and have your students stay home when unwell. Thank you everyone for doing what you can to keep everyone healthy.
Card Project
Your child has worked on some winter art that you can have turned into greeting cards or other personalized items. Please check it out at www.TheCardProject.ca and use our school Access Code: LX62. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these cards goes to LEPAC initiatives.
Educational Assistant & Community Support Certificate Program
Saanich Schools has partnered with Vancouver Island University to run a new 7-month certificate program to train to become an Educational Assistant and Community Support worker. The program runs out of the Saanichton Learning Centre at 1649 Mt Newton X Rd from February to August 2022. Tuition is $3,800 plus $400 for textbooks.
If you are interested in training for a career change, please send your questions to Heidi Hackman (hhackman@saanichschools.ca) and Colleen McNamee (cmcnamee@saanichschools.ca)
COPACS Meeting Minutes
The Confederation of Parents' Advisory Councils of Saanich (COPACS) is the official representative for School District 63 Parents' Advisory Councils. Every school has a Parents' Advisory Council and each of these is a COPACS member. The primary task under provincial legislation is to advise the School Board on “any matter relating to education in the school district”.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to get involved! Attend monthly COPACS meetings or contact them directly to receive updates on issues, activities and concerns of PACS in the district. They welcome parent feedback regarding district issues and policies. If you have any individual questions or concerns, please send an email to the copacssd63@gmail.com
Please check out the minutes from COPACS’ October Meeting
