Safety at and Around the School

Please keep in mind that there is to be no congregating at drop off and pickup times on the school grounds. This is for everyone’s safety during this hopefully final push of Covid.

Remember to do the Covid Health Screening every day with our children. Here is the  link

A final piece of safety that won’t be ending after Covid is ROAD SAFETY. Our Lochside staff are outside each morning and afternoon to share their friendly smiles (or just their eyes with the masks on). They don’t want to be traffic wardens. Please don’t make them have to repeat safety rules to you over and over:

  1. Avoid going down the south side of Lochside Drive completely. Don’t do pullovers or three point turns on that street. It is a very busy biking trail and we have seen so many close calls there.

  2. If you are going into the drop-off lane in front of the school, drive up as close to the rocks as you can, and definitely do not stop on the yellow line by the flag pole. Kids should be ready to hop out safely. Do not park or leave your car.

We really want to encourage all parents to park 5 minutes away from the school and enjoy that short walk to and from the school grounds. Thanks so much for your help on this.

Staff Appreciation

LEPAC will be showing our appreciation to our wonderful Lochside staff and administration at the end of this month. We’d love your participation. Attached to this email is a PDF with some handprints.

  • use the attached handprint to write a message of appreciation for your teacher(s),

  • colour it and sign your first name (within the black lines)

  • cut it out, place it in an envelope labelled Lochside PAC, seal it well. It's a secret!!!!!

  • bring it to school to hand in - tell your teacher it is for Lochside PACsmile

Please contact us if you’d like more information.

Art Cards

The children made amazing art for this exciting fundraiser. The Card Project has turned their masterpieces into professionally printed greeting cards.

Every child will take home a copy of their unique greeting card this week. The front of the card showcases each child's own art with their name and grade printed on the back.

To place an order for more cards, please go online to www.TheCardProject.ca

You will need the art number printed on the back of your child’s card.

ORDERS are due on Sunday, May 16 for delivery in the first week of June. This is a wonderful fundraising opportunity for our school. We receive 20% of the sales. Thank you in advance for your support.
