Parents/Guardians:

There have been changes within the last two weeks, and we want to be sure you know what to do with regards to mask-wearing at school.  Note that these new requirements are all about breaking the chain of transmission of COVID-19 and keeping our Lochside community as safe as possible.

  • Students in Gr. 4/5 and ALL STAFF wear masks throughout the day, except when:  outside, eating/drinking at their desk/workstation, if behind a barrier, when providing guidance and support to a person with a disability where visual cues, facial expressions and lip-reading are essential to communication.
Exceptions:
  • Students and staff who have allergies and asthma may remove masks temporarily as needed to ensure ease of breathing; rarely, a student may not be able to tolerate wearing a mask for behavioural reasons
We acknowledge and thank all our community for the extra effort and care you take to ensure a high level of safety.  We thank you for your support.  If you have questions, please reach out to Mr. Vickers or Mrs. O'Leary.

ALSO NOTE:  With the spring/summer weather arriving, you may wish to use our playground        We ask that you:
  • leave our school grounds promptly after school and consider use of local parks
  • stay in your "trusted ten" personal bubble and ensure adequate distance between yourselves and other parties.
