Thank you to all parents who were able to attend our first LEPAC meeting this past week. We had a great turn out! We were also provided with a demonstration from our administration using our new sound system in the gym. Thank you to the Lochside community for all the fundraising and hard work in providing such an amazing system for the school!
Thank you Lochside staff for putting on the open house and Family BBQ. We would also like to thank all Lochside families that attended this event!
LEPAC would also like to thank the Lochside staff for planning the Terry Fox Run this past Friday. A special thank you to Megan, Jamie and Danielle who volunteered to help prepare and distribute apples to all of the children.
A Harry Potter Halloween
Our annual Lochside Halloween event has become one of our biggest events of the year! It is a great community evening filled with fun, delicious food, dancing, games and prizes. This is an event you do not want to miss. It’s a wonderful way to connect with Lochside families and to have fun with friends!
We need your help to put on this spectacular event! It is a great way to help out within the Lochside community. We are asking for volunteers to join our Halloween Committee to help with decorating and preparing! Whether you need to take home projects, or you can help out at the school, we have something for you! Please email Alysha at alyshamau@gmail.com if you are interested in helping.

Our first popcorn day is October 10th. If you would like your child to have popcorn, please have your popcorn forms in by Friday Sept 28th.
Volunteers Needed!
1. BC Fruit & Vegetable Nutritional Program
We need 1 volunteer for 9:30am to assist with washing and distributing produce to classrooms. The upcoming dates are Oct. 15, Oct. 29, Nov. 19, and Dec.3. The commitment is 1 hour.
2. Games on the green
The program is geared to increase children's physical activity before school. In order for this program to happen we need 2 volunteers, 2 days per week for 6 weeks from 8 to 8:30am. We are hoping to offer this program twice, once in the fall and again in the spring. I am currently looking for volunteers starting middle of October for 6 weeks. Volunteer duties vary but may include: setting up and taking down equipment; taking attendance as kids arrive; participating in games/activities for 30min; walking kindy kids to the school doors.
3. Gardeners/Yard maintenance. Our court yard is looking great this year but we can use an extra hand. If you are interested in helping our school with maintaining the beautiful teaching garden in the court yard please let me know as we can use an extra helper.

Walking Wheeling Wednesdays
Encourage your family to walk, wheel or scoot to school, especially on Wednesdays! Park a bit further away to give your child a chance to be active before school and to avoid the parking lot congestion. Are your kids walking to school (full or part way) by themselves?
