New School Welcome Sign

Today was National Aboriginal Day -  a fitting day to have had  the pleasure of seeing our new school welcome sign go up by our front entrance!

The sign was planned and sponsored by our PAC, and we are once again very thankful for the generosity of our parent group.

Local First Nations artist Chris Paul accepted the commission and designed a beautiful image of a Lochside Lizard.  He executed the sign with a flair for reflecting nature, capturing the image on solid cedar contrasted with our school colour, which is green.

The sign will be inspiration to us as we move forward with our new curriculum links to Aboriginal knowledge and culture.
