Dear Lochside families,

Thank You to LEPAC and everyone who helped with Staff Appreciation Week.  Special thanks to Stephanie K, Alex S, Carolyn P, Megan M and Heather G who contributed so much to have the week a success.  Please read on for this week’s update.

Scholastic Book Fair - Urgent Need for Volunteers

As many of you know, our Spring Half Price Scholastic book fair begins next week.  This is a huge district wide event that is being held in our school gym and will support resources for our library.

We are still in need of a number of volunteers for this event. The Fair is being set up on Wednesday and the actual fair is happening Thursday, Friday, as well as next Monday and Tuesday.  Please see our volunteer sign up form and consider signing up for a shift or two.

Silent Auction Fundraiser

Do you want your own VIP PARKING SPACE in Lochside's parking lot?  Do you want FRONT ROW SEATING at the CHRISTMAS CONCERT?  These are just 2 of many auction items that will be at our silent auction on June 2nd!!!!!

LEPAC is excited to announce that we will be hosting a Silent Auction Fundraiser to help raise funds for a new electronic/digital sign for our school!  This event will be held on Friday, June 2nd at the Beach House Restaurant starting at 7pm.  This is an adult event.  Tickets are $30 which includes food, cash bar, the silent auction, and dancing!!  You can purchase tickets during our 1/2 Price Scholastic Book Fair in the gym as well as before and after school on the 17th, 18th and19th located at the kindergarten entrance as well as the sunspace entrance.

We are also looking for those who would be willing to provide silent auction items for this fabulous event.  The more auction items, the more money we can raise for our school!!  Some examples of  auction items are:

  • Landscaping service
  • Hours of legal advice or drafting a will
  • Accounting services
  • Music lessons
  • Gift cards to stores, events, theatres, leisure centres
  • Gift baskets (wine, movie, bath, food, etc)
  • Electronics
  • Art

These are just a few ideas but any service or item will be much appreciated. Any questions regarding the event or auction items as well as please contact Kelly Perry.

Forms will be sent out with your children this week and once filled out, can be returned in a labeled box outside the office. Thank you for your support.  It will be a lot fun and we hope to see many people there!!!!

Annual Year End BBQ

Lochside’s Annual Year End BBQ will take place on Friday, June 23rd from 5:00 – 8:00!  We will have a BBQ, bouncy castles, face-painting, photo booth, relay races and so much more … so mark those calendars!

This is a wonderful community building event and we would love to hear from you if you are interested in being a part of the planning and organizing committee.  We appreciate any time a parent or guardian is able to contribute and no contribution is too small.  Please contact Kelly Perry if you would like to be involved in any way.

Thrifty Foods Smile Cards

Each year we fundraise through the use of Thrifty Foods Smile cards.  This fundraiser has proven to be very successful in the past and monies raised have been used for items such as technology that directly benefit students.  This year, we are quite far off from our fundraising goal, which will have an impact on this year’s and next year’s fundraiser amount.  Please consider loading your Smile Card and using it when you grocery shop to support Lochside.

Have a great week!
