Weekly Update - November 29, 2020

Hello Lochside Community! This weekly update starts with a couple of serious topics so be sure to read through them carefully.

Covid-19

Let’s do what we can to keep things safe for our community. Stay off school grounds if you don’t need to be there. If you do need to come onto the property, be quick. Unfortunately we can’t visit with friends or stop for a play on the grounds before or after school. Wear a mask if you can and keep at least two meters away from other families.

Please remember to do your daily health-checks with your children and always err on the side of caution if they don’t seem like their usual selves before sending them to school.

Kindness in the Parking Lot

It has come to our attention that there has been some aggression directed towards the EAs helping with traffic direction in our parking lot. They are there to keep all our little ones safe so please be kind. We are all experiencing stressful times but let’s remember our breathing exercises and try to stay in the “Green Zone” while dropping off our Lizards. If your Lizard needs assistance getting out of the car and navigating the parking lot, the drop-off lane is not for you. You need to park on one of the nearby side streets instead. Generally students in kindergarten are not yet ready for the drop-off lane.

If your child can get in and out of the car without your assistance and you’d like to use the drop-off lane, please remember that you need to pull up as close to the rocks as possible leaving no big gaps between cars. We can’t have traffic backing up onto Royal Oak Drive.

Please remind any family members or caregivers that help with pickup and drop off about all of this as well.

LEPAC General Meeting
Our LEPAC General Meeting will be Tuesday December 8th at 6:30. This meeting will be held completely on Zoom. Please copy this link into your calendar. We’d love to “see” you there!

Purdys Chocolate

Thank you so much to all the friends and family of Lochside that ordered Purdys treats through our fundraiser. We are so thankful that we able to raise $3000 to put towards our LEPAC initiatives. We are expecting the mountain of chocolate to arrive this week!

Lochside Apparel

The Spirit Wear order is in! Items will be delivered to the school on Monday and arrive home with your child unless you have made alternate pickup plans.

Thank you so much to Trish for sorting through all the orders this weekend and for organizing this important boost to school spirit.
